Our Story
Founded in the early 1990’s, Mortgage Link was one of the first mortgage adviser groups to be established in New Zealand and played a vital part in the development of the industry. We are 100% New Zealand owned and operated, with over 40 locations across the country all the way from Northland down to Otago. As a market leader in financial advice, we are proud to have helped thousands of Kiwis with their home financing needs.
Mortgage Link recently expanded its service offering in 2016 through the establishment of its sister company Insurance Link, which was set up to complement its mortgage products by providing the most comprehensive range of insurance options from the very best insurance providers. Making sure that Kiwis make good, informed decisions about how to protect what matters to them.

Meet the Taupo team
Wendy Yorke
I was prompted to become a mortgage broker when the opportunity was advertised in the local newspaper. As I had previously worked for private companies doing financial assessments, and enjoyed the work and, I wanted to continue working in a similar industry. I worked as a Finance Manager for a private marketing company for 4 years prior to being with Mortgage Link Taupo since 1994. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and get great personal satisfaction in helping them to get ahead and reach their financial goals.
The most rewarding and satisfying part of my job is to help people that are having financial difficulty e.g. mortgagee sales.

Glenn Yorke
I was motivated to become a mortgage broker soon after my wife Wendy had employed and trained a new staff member to run the office while she was on maternity leave! Unfortunately for the business (only at the time!) the new staff member was offered a financially better position; but fortunately I’d had some previous lending experience through assisting Wendy in her previous role as a Finance Manager.
I was also motivated to take on the role due to not having the time to train someone else as our baby was due in a few weeks. Together we were able to continue operating the business, rather than have the doors close to what had begun to gather momentum with client referrals.
Prior to becoming a mortgage broker in 1996 I was employed full-time as a builders’ labourer while I was also establishing my own security alarm sales and installations business. I still manage the security business and run it as a sideline, to enable me to continue offering service to customers upon request.
I enjoy being my own boss and I get great satisfaction assisting other people to achieve their goals. This includes offering tremendous customer care and recommendations to and for professional’s advice if and when required to complete any transactions.

Tracey Douglas
I joined Mortgage Link Taupo in 2019 and come from a background of family business ownership. I have invested in property myself and that’s what drove me to become a mortgage adviser. I remember how hard it was when the banking language sounded so foreign and there seemed to be so many hoops to jump through with little help through the mainstream avenue. I strive to take those experiences and offer first home buyers’, step by step advice on the process, so that it doesn’t feel too overwhelming. I offer personalised advice for people purchasing their dream home or wanting to invest in their first, second of third property, from employees to business owners, I offer solutions to meet your needs and expectations to achieve your personal goals.
In my spare time I am generally found out riding, running, or paddling with friends somewhere in the beautiful Taupo and surrounding areas.

Jay Yorke
I come from a family of financial advisers, and have always had in interest in the advice sector as a result but originally worked in tourism working on the lakefront here in Taupo as a booking agent and fishing/tour boat operator, where my passion for communicating with and helping people grew, after 7 years of that I decided to join the family business and continue this passion there. Your point of difference and value proposition: Coming from a family of advisers who’ve been in business and with Link Financial Group 25+ years, I’ve always been around the lingo and now that am fully qualified ready to give advice to people who I share this beautiful country with. The reason you have chosen Mortgage Link as your Head Group: Having family and contacts in the LFG group and working as an admin for my local office showed me the great services and products they have on offer, I was eager to join their ranks and become qualified myself.
